About the violinist

Caden Healey began studying the violin in the Oakville Suzuki Program at the age of 4 with Jean Grieve, continued with Janet Pasila, and more recently has studied under Mary Elizabeth Brown. He has participated in the OMFA Provincial Finals on several occasions, and has received awards from both the International Music Festival and Peel Music Festival. He has played at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and has been invited to play at the John Knowles Paine Hall at Harvard.

Enthusiastic about sharing his music with others, Caden regularly performs at St. Matthew’s Parish, as well as participating in a number of noted performance festivals including Music at Port Milford (2023, 2024). Caden has played for Maestro Ben Zander of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra in three of his Interpretation of Music, Lessons for Life classes—one in Boston and two in Oakville—and was a member of the Oakville Symphony Youth Orchestra for two seasons.

When he’s not playing the violin, Caden is passionate about math and science, winning a Distinction award in the 2024 Galois Math Contest.
